'Dear Hyena' (recorded as The Reading Room) is the story of a friendship spanning the Atlantic​. It began in 1999 when two antique eccentric collectors met in the Cotswolds over a bounced cheque, not you might think a promising start but it began a friendship of 18 years of letters chatting about their adventures, and many more misadventures, in pursuit of antiques.  Despite a 20 year age gap their letters show the deepening friendship between them as they sustain each other across the Atlantic through broken relationships, death & even repossession of a beloved home and yet still manage to make each other laugh at life's vagaries. 'Dear Hyena' opens a door into the sometimes dubious world of antique dealing but ultimately is a love story between two kindred spirits who choose optimism & laughter over adversity any day.
